New Branches Fortitude Health & Wellness, Inc.'s mission is to educate Corporate America and faith and community based organizations regarding preventative healthcare strategies to lower risk factors for chronic diseases. Our goal is to increase awareness and knowledge of chronic diseases due to unhealthy lifestyle behavior in America. Our main objective is to provide cost effective health education programs, resources, and innovative methods to reduce risk factors for chronic diseases.

Janet M. Brooks, M.S.

   Janet M. Brooks is the President and CEO of Fortitude Health & Wellness, Inc., a health and Wellness Company that incorporates innovative health prevention strategies into community and corporate wellness programs nationwide. Her experience in program development, implementation, and health promotions in community/faith-based and corporate sectors enhance her expertise to meet people where they are in health awareness.

   Her experience includes more than 20 years of health education and promotions, most recently as Vice President of National Cultural Health Initiatives for the American Heart Association, creating and implementing health prevention programs in more than 32 states. Her philosophy for wellness is grounded in awareness, appropriate solutions, and a well-defined business purpose for her client base.

   Her broad background includes projects in television, government, community, emerging populations, faith-based and corporate health, which give Brooks a comprehensive perspective with particular awareness of ethnic and cultural diversity. Health and wellness practices are not the same for every person and Brooks understands and addresses uniqueness in individuals and groups.
Brooks has published abstracts and articles with information on health prevention education, obesity and cultural health. She has lectured across the country on a variety of specific health conditions and on redefining cultural health. She targets specific outreach that offers front-line prevention programs.

   Ms. Brooks earned her B.A. in English from the University of Southern California and M.S. Education from National University, Los Angeles.
 

 


Larry Tate, B. I. S., B.A., M.S.

    Larry Tate is the Vice President of Program Development for Fortitude Health & Wellness, Inc. His experience encompasses eight years in the pharmaceutical industry and five years in health care program development in the community- based sector. His background includes Bio-electrical Impedance Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, Certified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist. He holds a B.A in Management from Webster University and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Clayton College. Larry is a published author; his soon to be released book War on Weight revealing specific techniques on weight loss will be available in bookstores October 1, 2005.
 

 


Randal Maxey, M. D.

   Dr. Randal Maxey is our Medical Advisor. He served as the Past President of the National Medical Association and the Team Medical Advisor for Fortitude Health & Wellness, Inc. Dr. Maxey is an internationally known Nephrologist that has worked in diverse communities and the corporate setting across the country to educate people about prevention and risks due to unhealthy lifestyles. He is on staff at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California.
 

 


Chinelo Haney, M. S.

   Chinelo Haney is our Ayurvedic Consultant for Stress Reduction and Self-Management programs and prevention through natural medicine. He is a certified instructor of Transcendental Mediation and bio-energetic healer of various holistic health techniques. His expertise is working hands-on with clients to implement stress reduction workshops and holistic techniques that participants can incorporate into their everyday lifestyle to reduce stress and manage depression.
 

 


Rosa Langie, Staff Sociologist and Researcher

   Rosa Langie is our Staff Sociologist, Researcher and Evaluation expert. Rosa is a graduate of California State University Los Angeles, with an M.S. in Sociology. She is an expert in program evaluations and developing data outcome tools that track program impact. Rosa has written several abstracts about successful evaluation and program outcome tools. She assists Fortitude with creating and implementing sustainable programs through logic models that specify the process by which outcomes are achieved.
